Hard base
Clean the entire base of loose dust and dirt. Wet the surface to be plastered until it is darker in colour before beginning the plastering work. The best time to wet the surface is the previous night.
Insulation plastering and plate plastering
Meshing of insulation plastering layer can be started after the adhesive mortar has dried. The insulation surface must be intact and straight. Any indentation is levelled, e.g. by grinding or cutting the surface of the insulation plate. Surfaces of insulation plates exposed to excessive UV radiation are sanded throughout. The insulation or plate surface to be plastered must be flat and without indentations, solid and dust-free.
Mixing
Refer to the bag for how much water the plaster requires. Add the dry material to the water and mix with a concrete mixer for around ten minutes. With a power mixer or a drill paddle, around two minutes of mixing is sufficient. Allow the plaster to stand for around ten minutes and mix it again for a short while. Find the correct consistency at this stage by gradually adding the rest of the water. We do not recommend adding all of the water right at the start. The finished plaster remains workable for around two hours (in a container).
Work instructions
Hard base
Spray the Fescon Fibre Plaster all around onto the base in a layer 4-6 mm thick. If you wish, you can also spread the plaster manually using a steel trowel. After the bottom layer has dried, the surface is levelled by applying a second mortar layer of 2 to 3 mm onto the fibre layer and by finishing it to meet the requirements of the coating or paint. If necessary, the plaster is reinforced with a glass fibre mesh of 7x7 mm2, the correct placement is 1/2-2/3 outwards from the bottom of the mortar layer. If necessary, the angles of openings are also meshed. The joints of two different materials are always meshed. For coating, use Fescon Facade, Silicone resin or Fescosan-Coating.
Insulation plastering
Use alkali-protected fibreglass mesh as the plastering mesh. The first step of meshing is to install glass fibre mesh pieces and pre-formed corner reinforcements in the corners of the door and window openings. A layer of meshing is applied to the insulation plate with thickness of approximately 4 to 6mm, either with a mortar sprayer pump or manually. The glass fibre mesh is immersed in the fresh mass and combed so that it is even. The mesh layers must overlap at least by 100mm. After the bottom layer has dried, apply a second mortar layer of 2 to 3mm and finish it to meet the requirements of the coating or paint.
After treatment
Give aftercare to the plaster surface by spraying it with water. The need for aftercare depends on the conditions, and it should last at least 1-3 days.
Other points to note
- Avoid working in direct sunlight and in hot weather.
- However, the air and material temperatures must be above +5°C
